Is Demat Debit and Pledge Instruction (DDPI) compulsory?

DDPI is not compulsory but it is recommended for added convenience and security when selling or pledging shares. Without DDPI, you’ll need to authorize each transaction individually, typically using a T-PIN and OTP, which can lead to delays.

SEBI has introduced DDPI as a secure and optional method to streamline the authorization process. However, it does not replace traditional methods—investors can still choose to proceed with manual authorization if preferred.
