How long will it take for allotment of SDL, T-bills and G-Secs?
The allotment time for SDLs, T-Bills, and G-Secs typically follows this schedule:
1. SDL (State Development Loans): Allotment usually happens with settlement of T+2 business days after the issue closes.
2. T-Bills (Treasury Bills) and G-Secs (Government Securities): These allotments are generally completed in T+2 business days after the auction date.
Once the allotment is done, a contract note will be sent to your registered email. You can also view the settlement date for both current and past issues on the NSE website.
These securities are offered in limited amounts, so there’s no guarantee of allotment if the demand exceeds the available supply. If you’re not allotted securities in one auction, you can try again in the next one. The RBI conducts multiple issues every month, offering regular opportunities to invest.
